Year-Long Objectives

  • Writer’s Club will be represented at CHS Club Fairs
  • Writer’s Club will meet the first and third Tuesday of each month
    • Dates listed below.  Please put in your calendar and set a reminder
  • Writer’s Club will organize and conduct a community service project
    • Arts and Culture Night
      • Work with other clubs like World Languages, Exchange and ELL Students,GSA,Art, Choir, Band, Photography, Floral, etc. as well as Leadership and ASB to host a 2 hr. evening of activities around El Dia de los Muertos (Nov. 1 or 2)
  • Writer’s Club will organize and conduct a fundraising project​
  • Writer’s Club will maintain the Writer’s Club board to promote reading, writing, and our events
  • Writer’s Club will promote itself as a club within the school
  • Writer’s Club will select, edit, and publish school-wide student-written creative writing on a the Writer’s Club website and positively promote our work on social media as well as select one winner to earn a cash prize (dependent on funds earned throughout the year).

Roles of Officers

Officers must attend all meetings or have a valid excuse for absence.  Other members should attend the equivalent of one meeting per month to maintain membership.  October 29th

Picture
President
  • Consults with advisor and creates meeting agendas prior to each meeting
  • Runs meetings
  • Represents Writers’ Club at ASB meetings (see attached); lets Vice President know in advance if (s)he needs to attend instead
  • Helps organize activities and committees
  • Is an active participant in Writers’ Club activities and projects
Vice President
  • Assists president
  • Presides over meetings, attends ASB meeting, when president is absent
  • Keeps record of committees and members on committees
  • Is prepared to assume duties and responsibilities of president
Secretary
  • Distributes and collects attendance sheet each meeting
  • Reviews meeting notes from previous meeting
  • Keeps accurate and complete minutes of each meeting
  • Submits messages to the bulletin to promote Writer’s Club activities and projects
Social Chair
  • Creates advertisements and promotes Writers’ Club activities and projects
  • Works with president and vice president to organize committees and events
  • Maints the Writers’ Club board
Treasurer
  • Attends ASB meetings
  • Keeps records of club funds in order to promote Jabberwocky winners!  
  • Helps organize and promote club fundraisers
